Conduct manual tasks safely
Introduction
This course is suited to nurses, support workers, health workers, aged care, retail, or hospitality workers, construction workers – or anyone that has a workplace need to bend, twist, push, pull stretch or undertake repetitive actions.
Assessment
The class is 2 hours in duration excluding breaks and administration time.
There are 2 components to this program:
- Pre-course reading and online assessment.
- Practical training and workshop in the training space.
- Theoretical and practical assessment.
We use plain English, images and videos combined with questions and class discussion to provide the best outcome for comprehending the required knowledge of this course.

- Preparing the load/client
- Using two hands to lift or carry
- Avoid lifting objects above shoulder height
- Minimising repetitive movements
- Positions not held for long periods of time
- Avoiding twisting by reposition feet whilst turning
- Tools available to you
Certification
Once deemed competent, a learner will be issued with a statement of attainment via email.
